The CCCC Ceramic and Metal Arts Guild Workshop
The CCCC Ceramic and Metal Arts Guild brings in Holly Fischer
On November 21, 1:00 to 4:00pm Holly Fischer, figurative ceramist, will present a workshop at which time she will demonstrate how she builds her unique figurative sculpture. As part of the workshop she will also do a slide presentation and discussion. Admission is very limited. The fee for non-Guild members is $25.00. For a reservation, call 919-742-4156.
"Art is a second language for Holly; it has been her means for processing and conveying her internal struggle to balance being an intellectually strong and an emotionally vulnerable woman learning to be comfortable in her own skin. Her work explores duality and the spaces in-between perception and reality. She intends for her work to challenge the traditional roles of the observer and the observed with the hope that viewers will contemplate the fears and desires evoked through the act of looking."
"Holly Fischer exhibits her work regionally and nationally and has received numerous awards and accolades, including commissioned sculptures for the campuses of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Meredith College. Holly has taught at the Savannah College of Art and Design and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She is currently an adjunct instructor at Meredith College and is actively creating a new body of work."

Chatham Avenue in Siler City, NC 27344. He will be demonstrating photo techniques that juries are looking for in image submissions to competitions, shows, and in grant applications. He'll explain what sets apart good versus bad images as well as the relationship between the artist and images used to communicate with the world. This class is from 1:00 to 4:50pm. The fee for non-Guild members is $15.00. Call 919-742-4156 for a reservation. Space is very limited.
